We’re a Favorite Place on Google!

Monday, December 14th, 2009

East Bay PC Repair is now a Favorite Place on Google!Google recently began sending out window decals to local businesses to promote the usage and adoption of QR codes, as well as to promote Google Maps, and they’re calling these businesses Favorite Places. QR codes can be decoded with most smart phones (iPhone, Android phones and Blackberry’s) and will provide a link to the business listing on Google Maps.

The good news: We’ve been selected as one of the few businesses to receive these promotional window decals!

However, because we don’t have an actual office (I work out of my home), I thought I would go ahead and post pictures of the letter Google sent, along with the QR code window decal.

Best New Podcast – This Week in Google

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

twig200_0[1]
This new show from Leo Laporte and his gang at TWiT has quickly become my most favorite podcast. I eagerly await Saturday afternoons (3PM Pacific) so I can tune in and watch it live on live.twit.tv

On the show, of course they talk about all things Google, but that’s not all, they also talk about cloud computing and other internet, Web 2.0, tech and search related news.

On the show every week, along with occasional special guests, are:
Gina Trapani from Lifehacker and Smarterware.org, Jeff Jarvis, author of What Would Google Do?, and Leo Laporte.

Definitely take a few minutes and have a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

Description from TWiT:

Leo Laporte, Gina Trapani, Jeff Jarvis and their guests talk about the latest Google and cloud computing news. Recorded live at 6p Eastern/3p Pacific/2200 UTC on Saturdays and released later that evening. Part of the TWiT Netcast Network.

This Week in Google on The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte.
